Am I right remembering someone sometime somewhere here mentioning a European meeting, regarding HP-calcs?

You certainly mean the HPCC conference which will be held on the 13th and 14th of October;-)

It is in London. There are two HHC conferences this year, one in San Diego in late September, the other in London in October.

You will find that one of the most popular sites to host the conference has been the Chicago-Area CHIP group, which hosted in 1980, 1989, 1990, 2001 and 2005. They also hosted special calc meetings in conjunction with the no-longer-held Summer Consumer Electronics Shows in Chicago nine times between 1986 and 1995. (The CES is now only held in January in Las Vegas.)
