10C Series Original Prices

Looking through the 10C series on this site tonight I was surprised to see that the 11C and the 15C are both listed with the same Price at Introduction and the 16C is $15 higher.

I've no reason to dispute this but am surprised that a buyer would choose the 11C over the 15C as the latter machine would appear to have the more comprehensive features.

At the time I bought mine I would never have even considered the 16C as I just had no need for that kind or arithmetic.

The 15C and 16C were introduced later than the 11C and 12C. When the 15C was introduced, the 11C price was dropped.

Yep, the 11C was cheaper when the 15C came out. I forked out the extra $$ when I bought my 15C new in '82, and sure did love it the first time we needed to invert a matrix in heat transfer class. Good times, good times...

So, was the 16c really priced a few $$ higher than the 15c? That would be interesting ... I understand that quality specialty instruments can be more expensive than general-purpose instruments, but I figured that the extra memory in the 15c would result in a higher cost. (Especially considering memory costs back then.)
