HP 75C lexicon

Hi.

I have recently saved a 75C , and a 82161 Tape, and a 82162 printer fron landfill. A little work on the nicads and they basically operate. I am very happy because these things also work with my existing 41C, and 41CX machines.

Anyway, I have ordered the CD containing the users manual for the 75, but I was wondering if anybody had a copy of the commands that the 75 uses in text form. Even a subset, especially the I/O words.

I have discovered the Assign IO command. and I can use the CAT command to read tapes, but I want to be able to load the existing programs from tape. I have tried Load, Run etc, but constantly recieve invalid filespec messages. I have tried various forms of filespec eg "starwars:ta" "ta:starwars" etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

maybe the COPY command could be used.
COPY [source] [TO target]

(At least on the HP-71B). 75C should be similar.

It's been a few months since I used my 75C (I prefer the 71...), but IIRC, you use the COPY command to copy a program from tape to main memory, and then run it there.
Assuming you've used ASSIGN IO to make the tape drive 'TA', try something like :
COPY "STARWARS:TA" TO "STARWARS" . The double quotes are essential, BTW.
