OK OK I know: I shouldn't be that proud of my own collection but I can't resist showing them to you.
Please feel free to give your impressions.

I think you have a right to be proud not only of your collection but the website as well. I especially liked your anecdotes with many of the calcs. I recommend your site to all here. Charlie O. in Phoenix ▼

Quote:Oh my!!! Thanks, thanks, thanks... In fact my Macintosh did most of the cosmetic part... About the anecdotes, I must update them to pu tin the real stories because "cut & paste" did a bad joke to me for some of them... ▼ ▼

Very neat site! Clean design, a true Apple product :) BTW, I look at it using FF 2.0 under Windows ME - no problem at all. ▼

Quote:Looks weird. Quote:In fact, this site was much more to show my collection. I would need more knowledge to be able to redistribute it. I must admit I much more grab info from MoHPC than I bring any. ▼

Information can include "I got it at that store in 19xx", "Was used to build my house", "How I found it in the diswashing machine" ▼

Does anyone have an idea for improving this site? Contents, cosmetics, behaviour? Thanks anyway for existing feedback ▼

Hello,
Quote: Because you were asking, here is my idea: please put some content on the site. It looks really nice, but I would be upset if this would be one of the findings of google while I´m searching for information.
On the other hand, it is difficult to show more information than hpmuseum.org, nonetheless there are some sites with very interesting details, e.g. www.hp9825.com or Maybe you planned this already, so let us see. Greetings,
Thomas Edited: 16 Nov 2006, 12:45 p.m. ▼

In fact, if you except my personal experience with my own machines, all I know about HP calculators, I learned on MoHPC... I already "pirated" the pictures. I couldn't dare to "vacuum" the information also. Edited: 17 Nov 2006, 3:41 p.m.

Between your collection and "wanteds" you are missing several models... break out the wallet and get busy. ▼

I am surprised to see neither a 15C nor a 42S--along with the 41 series, my favourites. Les ▼

15C: how could I forget this one... I'll add it right now. About the 42S, I never tasted it so I guess I may be missing something. Edited: 17 Nov 2006, 3:42 p.m.

I didn't see the HP91, 92, 97, 97S, 32C, 33C, 37, 38E, 41C, 41CV, 75. And then there is the 9100A and 9100B... everybody needs a couple of them. ▼

Quote:I can't see any 32C in history but rather a 32E... I have 2 38C and don't plan to buy a 38E. The 9x printing series will be for a later time given the room I have in my apartment. I already have 2 97 and don't even know where I'll but the second one... 91xx series are definitely too expensive and large to be sought after. Maybe later. To clarify my chase, I'm looking for models I was staring at when I was a teenager rather than highly collected items such as the ones you mention. It's an orientation I gave to my collection when I missed my HP21 so much I decided to find one (see story).

Great site! I think a little fault slipped into it- in the "coconut"-section, you are talking about memory modules and using them in your HP-41CX. You are certainly talking about "X-memory". I see no problems in publishing your serial numbers, but a year ago, there was a thread about that issue, suggesting to hide the last digits of the serial numbers to avoid trouble. Someone may claim that his stolen calc had your serialnumber. I like you layout very much, and the little stories you tell are fun. Good work! ▼

Quote:Thanks Quote:In fact, the memory module (not X memory) was purchased for the 41C and then used on the 41CX since they stole only the calc itself. Quote:I think you're right: I'll remove the serial numbers. Quote:My Macintosh helped very much in designing something neat. About the stories, my two remaining neurons help me remember only the best... Edited: 19 Nov 2006, 5:51 p.m. |
