I've got two (yes 2) HP27s. The first I've had since college (1987), the "5" key only works some of the time, but I've gotten used to it. I purchased another 27S about a year ago on Ebay, and it was in great shape and worked like it was new. The other week, I went to turn it on, and it wouldn't power up. I put new batteries in it, and it still wouldn't come up. I was looking on the web tonight, and found a combination of keys, when pressed, resets the machine. I did this, and it powered up, but what I found through this is the CLR (ON/OFF) key is broken. Does anyone know how to open up the 27S to fix a key? Can this be done successfully?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. I've already started my search for another 27S (or I may just have to settle (Very Depressing) for a 17BII). I think we need to start a petition for HP to bring back the 27S.
