How to test HP 80,55,65,45,97, etc...

#2

Hi all,

Few days ago, I had a HP 25 on sale on Ebay. Someone tole me that if I tested it without the battery, I might have burned the system. But it works with regular AA batteries.

Now I got a HP 80 in mint condition, and I don't want to screw it up again. This one comes with charger and battery as well. How can I test it? put the battery first and then plug the charger? or don't use the batteries, just use the charger directly.

I think the answer to this question will be the same for any vintage HP series like 55,45,65,97, etc.

Thanks for any help.
