I have a Hand Held Products brochure with cover letter that came in the box with a 71B (but not the module!) The cover letter offered a discount effective in August and September, 1988. The 96K RAM Module is listed in the items discounted but it is not mentioned in the brochure. However, the brochure says this:
"Hand Held Products' 71 M/M Series extended RAM modules can be utilized in two ways:
(1) Main Memeory
When the module is in place, you have instantly added 160K, 128K, 64K or 32K bytes of memory to your HP71's main RAM.
(2) Independent Memory
Your increased memory may also be partitioned or placed in independent RAM, residing in port 5 of the HP71. Memory is partitioned in 32K byte increments and addressed in these locations:
* 32K ... Port 5.0
* 64K ... Ports 5.0 and 5.01
* 128K ... Ports 5.0, 5.01, 5.02, and 5.03
* 160K ... Ports 5.0, 5.01, 5.02, 5.03, and 5.04"
BTW, the 32K RAM was $165 reduced to $125, 64K was $295 reduced to $275, 96K was $395 reduced to $350 and the 128K RAM was $625 reduced to $450. The 160K wasn't mentioned in the discount letter but the brochure has all the same regular prices plus the 160K for $750.
