Hallo Thomas, Dynatech is a big calculator source for teachers. So, what does it tell us if such a site is not capable spelling German properly? Or does not spend time for proofreading? No further comment :( ▼

That's not the only typo. Punctuation is a bit strange, too. I've just sent an email to info@dynatech.de:

Quote: I'm thrilled HP is introducing new calculators, and if some are non-programmable that's fine too as they are good for exams that don't allow programmable calcs --- but when will these newer models be available on this side of the Atlantic? The HP 17BII+ (silver) with full-width Input key was released in Europe in Fall 2007, yet as we approach Summer 2008 is still not available at, for example, SamsonCables or CalcPro. Does that mean another year of waiting for availability here of the HP 20B as well? ...bt

Quote: Yeah, I also have noticed the slow proliferation of the newer image of the HP 17BII+ (Silver) on some US online sites. But I wonder if anyone has ordered the above and actually received the HP 17BII+ (Silver) model? Or did they receive instead the older brown and gold model without the double-width Input key? Both are identically marketed by HP as the "HP 17BII+". Does "model shipped may not exactly match illustration" apply? As was mentioned, specialty shops such as SamsonCables and CalcPro, whose business is about having the newest and latest models, amazingly are still showing only the older brown and gold HP 17BII+, as is the case too for Amazon.com. I've been told by one vendor that the reason for the slow introduction of the HP 17BII+ (Silver) model on this side of the Atlantic is due to unsold inventory of the older version of the HP 17BII+ model. And it does make one wonder -- why else would HP introduce a new case-design, yet retain the old model designation, unless maybe they wanted to facilitate retailers clearing out old inventory?

Interesting. Scientific, trig, combinations, permutations, etc., and business. I'm intrigued. CHUCK ▼

Anyone remember the HP-27 (LED Woodstock all-in-one from the mid/late 70s) ? Looks like same idea updated. HP-27 is quite a rare bird today. John

Additionally, you may recall the HP 27S, just 20 years ago. It was one of HP's cleanest designs :) though not RPN. I prefer its way of placing soft keys in the *lower* display line. The 20b has a rudimentary space for menu items top left only, instead, far away from the respective keys :( Edited: 9 May 2008, 7:55 a.m.

No programming and not RPN. :( ▼

Looks like 20B lacks programming, but has RPN available. [Umgekehrte polnische Notation + ] (from German web site) My 0.02... John ▼

John, I've just read the line. ;) On the blurry picture, a "mode" key can be identified. I was just guessing from the "=" key that it were an algebraic only device.

No scientific notation?

Hmm, a new LCD within a pioneer case. Does this mean we can expect a new scientific platform?

Seems like a replacement model for HP 10BII. ▼

To me it looks more like a Texas Instruments BAII Plus remake than a successor of the HP 10B II.
