See item 250020261072

From the description:

Built in 1975 and sold via mail order from Quelle, Germany, this calculator operates with RPN logic. The chip inside is from TI!

Anybody interested?

I am interested. Are you the seller?

No I'm just a bidder. But if you need some more info translated from German to English I might be able to help you.

Thanks Marcus!!! That's very nice of you.

It seems this calc does share some appearance/trim details with Unisonic calculators.

Searching the Net for "Privileg SR54" reveals some links. One says, the machine is equivalent to an "Omron 12SR". It's obviously an OEM design sold to more than one company for relabeling.

This calculator is probably a Commodore OEM machine, it uses MK50075N, MK50103N, MK50104N by MOSTEK.

Maybe they share the same processor chip, but apart from that, they couldn't be more different: LED vs. VFD; different keyboard layout; built-in NC cells vs. replaceable AA cells; Prvileg misses the "Grad" switch, etc. (see here: http://www.gschwaninger.de/hobbies/hp/omron/omron12sr.jpg and http://www.gschwaninger.de/hobbies/hp/privileg/privilegsr54nc.jpg )

Unfortunately I will probably not be able to compare them at home (I already have an Omron 12SR) since you posted the eBay item-number here and the price is already beyond my limit ;-)

Greetings, Max

NB: The Omron 12 is a really nice calculator (a little too big and heavy maybe), very much like the hp-45.

Two squared things:

Mine does not have anything marked Texas Instruments inside. Others may.

The unit does have a bit of that Commodore look, although the keys are ckickier than any Commedore that i know of.

It's a shame but there is no way to access the grad function on the Mostek ROM. The chips were made in the US and we use degrees and radians here but not grads.

Mine (and my hillbilly description) can be oogled here
