Help! My much-loved and much-used 19BII developed a chip in the plastic casing right next to the battery cover that has finally broken off. Now the cover to the battery case will not stay on, causing the batteries to fly out whenever I open the calculator. I can't turn on the calculator unless I physically hold the batteries in place. Is there any way to fix this?

I used a couple of layers of packing tape to hold the battery cover on my 28S which suffers from a similar problem. Changing batteries becomes a pain but the calculator is still functional.

I used some Tenax-7R (available at plastic model stores) on one once, and it held for a good long while, assuming you still have all the pieces. Got the tip off this board for fixing 41 post problems. |
