Stiffness of newer kbds (49g+)?
#1

In the recent discussions regarding the later (newer) revisions of the 49g+ and build 80 of the ROM, I haven't read much regarding the stiffness of the keys.

My remaining 49g+ is the earlier (CN40600229) and the keys are fairly hard to depress.

When the keybounce issue is resolved, if the keys are more like the 33s and 48g series in resistance, the 49g+ will be attractive.

My CNA 50201686, ROM 2.00, is stiffer than my other HPs (including the 33s) but the keys are working without problems: no bounces, no missed entries. The red shift key rattles slightly but that doesn't affect its function.

My main issue with the keyboard is the layout: since I only use the 49g+ occasionally I keep looking for basic functions. "What were the shifted/shift hold functions of the arrows?" It's mostly a matter of trial and error to find out.
