Wow! How do you enter anything on the calculator? That is neat!

Hi there, Masao. Hey Man, that's cool! DW

Hi,
the watch has a touch screen, Regards Raymond

It is actually quite usable since only the "keys" need to be pressed and not the mnemonics on the land area above the "keys" for the shifted functions. Tip: At work, I use a 4-in-one [(hp)] iPaq stylus pen, so that I don't have to pull out the wristband stylus every time I want to use the touchscreen. :-)

Masao: I can only say wooowww!!! I'm thinking at a follup to the hp01... More a Fossil 02! Do you still have memory room for other daily tools (like watch, PDA functions etc.)? Valentino

cool stuff. i have to get one! whats the difference between the fx2008 and au2005 is it the metal?
also, you could run my scientific calculator as well!

A way to reduce clutter in the display: Show the shifted functions on the keytops, but only after the related shift key is pressed. That way, the keys could be made bigger, and you don't need to show all the shifted legends until they're actually to be used. But, way cool! I thought my Armitron four-banger watch was neat ~20 years ago (never had an HP-01), but this is beyond Dick Tracy! Thanks!

I've been running Free42 on my Abacus WristPDA (the less exepnsive version of the Fossil) for a while now, but hadn't thought to post a message. Abacus is Fossil's low-end line, and the Abacus WristPDA is functionally nearly identical to the Fossil-branded one, but has a somewhat different case and band. For a while they were available for $80 from TigerDirect; I'm not sure if they still have them. I mostly use the Abacus as a watch, and only use the PDA features if I forget to carry my Treo 650 (which is also running Free42).

By the way, if you want a less functional RPN calculator on your PalmOS device, Jonathan Purvis ported my older CSIM simulator for the HP-35/45/55 to the Palm, so I also run that on the Abacus watch and the Treo 650. There will eventually be a PalmOS port of Nonpareil, but I haven't had time to work on the architectural changes needed to make the simulator core more portable.

Quote: That suggestion has languished in my private to-do list for ages now... I'll try to squeeze it in when I get back to working on Free42 (I am moving at the moment so now is not a good time to do any serious work, but hopefully a couple of weeks from now...). - Thomas |
