There used to be an organization, Science for the Blind, that adapted scientific equipment for use by the blind. I suspect that is what is up for auction, a calculator that was modified to be usable by a blind person. That is what I could find on Google. There were references to Thomas Benham, a blind professor at Haverford College.

Did you find something specific for this hp-34 ? what features for the blinds were added ?

I don't have any more information on the calculator. My guess, based on its age, is that they decoded the LED display signals and used them to drive some sort of braille device. |
