Tried the fabulous HP25 simulation - very nice! It was my first HP, too. Unfortunately, the simulation will close when I leave the net. Is there any good HP calculator simulation available for PC to be used without the net or did I miss anything? I use MathU for my palm 515 already.

If you really want a very good Virtal HP41C on your PC, you just have to use Warren Furlow's one ....

It is simply the best in my own opinion !!!!!!!

It seems that it is impossible to write here a link to his web site ..... I really don't know why ..... it's sad !!!!

Since you have a Palm, you may want to look at the HP emulators for the Palm. I use P41CX, which is a true emulator of the HP-41CX. The registered version comes with a Rom mangement program which allows you to emulate changing the four mudules. Comes with the rom images for most of the major roms, including the Advantage. Also includes images for the CCD, PPC, and ZenRom.

There's also a emulator for the HP-48/49 called Power48.
It's a free program that emulates the 48SX, 48GX and the 49G on the palm. Not sure how fast it would be on a Palm 515. I'm using it on a Sony Clie NX60 with OS5 and other than the slow loading, runs great.

Power 48 URL: http://power48.mobilevoodoo.com

I believe I read that there's also a simulator for the HP-35 that runs on a Palm. Not sure where to find it or how good it is.

Hope above helps.

do you know if its possible to run power48 without a sd card?

also, the csim hp35 for the palm works well. there might be a new version now for the other classics.

Warren's has the best MMI (Man-Machine-Interface) but JF Garnier supports HP-IL.

If you realy want to know why it's not possible to publish a link to V41 (currently R8beta2 available) try to contact me offlist, see http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/nutem/nutem.htm#re

Yes, seems to me you missed the fact that there's a link to the source code for the Java applet. If you've got some proficiency in creating Java applets and applications, that's all you need to create a stand-alone Java simulation that will run locally, off-line. It can be easily translated to VB.net as well, if desired.

Anyway, apart from the "oh-so-cute" factor, I would recommend using instead V41 available for free from a well-known-but-censored-out-here-for-undisclosed-reasons web site. This is an amazing piece of software that will give you an exact lookalike of a real 41, with all RAM, X-Functions/X-MEM ROM, Advantage ROM, etc, nearly indistinguishable from the real thing, except it's several times faster (and some I/O capabilities, of course).

Best regards from V.
