My battery contacts in my HP-41CX seem to be slightly corroded. I can clean them easily, but I would like to find a way to avoid the problem altogether. I am using the same set of N batteries (disposable, not rechargeable) that I bought in March 1999. Should I switch to an adapter (if one exists for the 41C) or start using rechargeable batteries?
Note: if I remove the batteries to check the contacts, the clock and alarm get reset, but any programs and data stays in memory.
Thanks.
