HP 3421A Data Acq. Doc's
#1

Any of you HPIL " guru's " know where I can get my hands on some documentation for this unit at a reasonable cost ? Only interested in programming commands at the moment, but a service manual would also be nice. Any help is appreciated.

I have the 32 page 8.5 x 11" Product Note 3421A-1, "Using the 3421A/41CV Data Acquisition Pac and The 3056DL Data Logger". I could make you a photocopy. Do you know where I can get a HEPAX manual or a RACETRACK manual? Both are for the HP-41.

The manual is ~ 300 pages and the service manual is at least twice that long.

Sounds like that would be helpful. If you could copy it I would be willing to cover the costs and mailing. Scans would be better to send electronically, but beggars can't be choosers. I'm not familiar with either the HEPAX or RACETRACK manuals. What are they for ?

Sounds like a daunting task, but I would still copy them if I could get my hands on them. I have tried the 3rd party " used manual " vendors and they are reporting no stock. It's a little frustrating because you go to the web site and they always list the manual in the database but when you ask for a quote they report no stock. A waste of time to fool with them.

Don,

I have the full set of docs including the user's manual, service manual and application note. I don't have a copier but I can get them professionally copied if you're willing t pay the cost of copying and postage. Copying runs about 6 or 7 cents per standard page and about twice that amount for foldout pages. Let me know.

Thanks Joe. I appreciate the offer. Standby and let me see how things turn out in the near term. I may seek that solution if nothing else turns up. I'm still hopeful that someone has a spare manual they don't need and are willing to sell it. Otherwise the copies are fine.

You're a lucky guy.

I just happened to have too much time some months ago and I scanned the users manual. I also do have copies of the service manual, but I didn't scan it til now (rather hard task).

I could send you the tifs or I could assemble them into a .pdf file

CAUTION: I scanned with 300 dpi and the scans are rather large (as I remember). I don't have them at this computer here, but my guess is, the users manual might be abt 200 MB. A CD would be best, I think

Lucky ! I'm tempted to get in the auto and head to Vegas while the magic is still alive ! Further discussions to follow by email.
