17BII solver
#1

Hi,
I have read that the HP 17BII solver is THE SAME as that installed in 19BII. I wonder if I can use trig functions in 17BII solver?

tricky. the 17bii doesnt have any trig functions, only logs.

#3

I know that 17BII has no trig functions, but as the solver application is the same as that in 19BII trig functions should work. I heard that even not documented functions work in the same way as described in the 19BII manual.

Has anybody checked it?

I just checked:
A=SIN(B) gets error message: "INVALID EQUATION".

MP:

Not that I'm aware. If you find a way, please let me know!

In the meantime, if you need TRIG functionality on your 17BII---and you can wait a few seconds for your answer---please look here:

This quote comes from Craig Finseth's HPDATAbase
http://www.finseth.com/~fin/hpdata/hp17bii.html

"...The solver in this machine [17bii] is exactly the same as that of the 19bii and includes all 19bii functions even if not documented."

I think this statement is incorrect. The list of 19bii solver functions is also on Craig's site. I've tried access trig and other functions in solver equations on the 17bii, but the 17bii sovler refuses to verify such equations.
