Explaination on How to Reset Caculator in Users guie: error
#1

On pages 531 and 532 of the users manual in RED print are a series of buttons to push if none of the reset options work. One of the buttons to press is the ON button, but the other one is not shown as far as I can read it. There is an underline but no button.

I don't see any of that on pages 532 and 532 of the Users Guide. I have Edition 1 of the Users Guide.

OK, I think the manual means to press On and the space bar button next to the + button on the bottom row.

You've got an obsolete version of the User Guide. Dump it. Here's a newer one:

Thanks,I have found the new version , but the ON-Symb key combination still resets the calculator. I was wondering,is there some good reason we should not to know about the other possible ways to reset the calculator?
I have not had to use three key combination using the Apps key,yet or the reset hole in the back of the calculator, yet.
I was wondering why there are three methods to reset the calculator in the first place, and what are the resulting states of the calculator are, after each one?
Has the firmware changed since the May version of the manual was printed so that only the paper clip method works.Obviously the ON-SYB key combination works, maybe at least on my calc.
Again,I have not tried the other method.

Hello,

ON-Symb is in the highest levels of the keyboard driver. It will work as long as the OS is working and just resets the CPU (with no saving of unsaved data)

ON-APP-ESC is an app level function which will clear all user files (with 1 or 2 exceptions) and reboot, thus providing a clean device.

Reset resets the CPU (with no saving of unsaved data), but will work evne if OS is crashed...

ON-Symb is great because you can use it without having to look for a paper clip.
