Sending from graph to home or CAS screen
#1

One thing I miss from the HP 50g is when finding points of interest on a graph, the result would be tagged and sent to the home screen where further use could be made of those numbers. Is this possible on the Prime? If not, it would be a wish book item for me!

One another thing we miss from the HP 50g is the possibility to find points of interest on a graph, (slope extremum ...) if we place user function in Fi(X)...

I hope some improvement here in future release.

The information is stored in the app variables, but there is currently no way to send a number directly to the stack.

Will mark it down on the list of enhancement requests. Thanks.

Please explain what you are envisioning? The function app has a "fcn" menu key that allows to find roots, slope, extremum, and so on in the graphing interface, and all these can be called directly using using the function calls in the toolbox->app->function application function menu.

For example, ISECT(X^2,X+4,2) or SLOPE(F1,1.5)

These functions vary with the application and , while not everything is possible in all graph types, a lot of functionality exposed there for direct useage.

Thank you for your answer Tim,

In fact the "fcn" menu key that allows to find slope, extremum in the graphing interface don't works with user define function....

For example as explain in a post ( http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/hpmuseum/forum.cgi?read=252120#252120 ) if I define (with the shift "Define" key) sincard(X)=sin(X)/X then enter : F1(X)=sincard(X) in symb view I can see the graph in plot view but I can't ask for points of interest... (root only seem to work...)For my personal use it's a real problem...

For now I have to enter explicitly the function... And what about function defined by a program ?

My apologies for very bad english...

Understand what you mean now. I will put it on this list of items to look at and investigate. It may never work completely as a user function can have all sorts of strange things in them, but for a specific subset or type (such as the DEFINE box), there might be something that can be made to work.

Thank you!

Thank you for the quality of your listening !

Hope the improvement will also work for cas user function : f(x):=sin(x)/x then F1(X)=f(X)...

I'am very impatient to test the real prime (at the end of the week... The parcel is on the road :o) Thank's for these beautiful calc !
