As it seems the barcode creation for the 41 is understood I had 2 more ideas about Barcodes. I'd like to ask you whether this could be of any interest or not.
1) other types
There are several other barcode types beside program code. Like data, direct execution, paper keyboard code or custom data. Do you think ist worth the work to be able to create them?
2) scan Barcodes
Assume you've taken a photo of barcode page and hold a jpg in your Hands (or you scan it using a standard scanner). I have the strong feeling (and first ideas) that its possible to analyze the image and create the raw data or the source code out of the scan. What do you think?

Option 2 is much more palatable in my book!

This second step is clearly of interest to me and would allow (perhaps for the first time) the conversion of barcode to programs without the HP41 wand.
Thanks

Hi all,
I've been thinking in an app to use the USB-41 interface to "emulate" the Wand using .WND files as the input source.
May this be of interest?
Just a thought for now...
Cheers.
Diego.

Hello Diego,
That would be a great idea! :-)
I never saw the ,wnd file type, is it something new from your idea ?
Best regards,
Sylvain

In go41cxt (android hp 41 emulator for tablet), I use the wand rom and hardware emulated to allow the user to define personnal virtual keyboard : Link
I was also thinking about taking pictures to digitalize pages of printed barcodes, but it was not done ... perhaps in the future ...

Hi Sylvain, all,
The .WND files are not from me but from a brilliant contributor: Leo Duran, who developed a comprehensive and very useful file converter.
You can find the details (and the download link) in this very site:
here.
Hope you find this an interesting reading.
Cheers from the (somewhat shaked today... :-) Dominican Republic.
