Well, the seller claims it's a space mission flown calculator. I can't see any proof of this claim though.

As a proof, the seller put a few posters of space missions in the package, among them a picture with a person in space suit holding an HP 65 in his hand. Pretty vague for a real proof as it is not evident that the example he tried to sell is the one in the guy's hand.



At the beginning Picassos were cheap too. May be some day we, rather our offsprings, will be confronted which such prices for "antique" HP calcs. If I look at the development of the HP-41 over the years this assumption is not that remote.

The statement of the seller, "To this day, the HP-65 is impressive - even to HP 48 users." is impressive for itself. So he thinks the HP 48 is the top product of the series?

The analysis of the German text let me conclude that he is not very firm in that language. I guess an East-European origin so that the proximity to ex-Soviet paraphernalia might be probable. Perhaps he "got" the calc from a storage place with venerable material from former space missions. Also he seems to know on which market to place such stuff - but just ~5000 bucks is far out of scope, even for the supposedly whealthy German HP fan base.

Isn't the picture of the female astronaut doctored? The head looks WAY too small for the hands, etc. (I know spacesuits look big, but this???)
