PDF File of Short & Sweet Math Challengers
#1

Recently, someone mentioned the great Short & Sweet Math Challengers by Valentin. It got me thinking that some of the newer members here may not be aware of them. Back in 2005, I assembled the first eleven of these into a single PDF file. Following is link:

SSMC110.PDF

I think there are additional SSMC out there, but I never updated the PDF.

Funny you should post this today. From my visit here Monday, I followed a Google search and downloaded the previous version Monday. Thanks for the update!

Matt,

This is the same file that was posted back in 2005. Someday, I should update it to include the later Challengers.

Hope you enjoy it.

They are a lot of fun.

Well, until then, I'll be having some fun with these.

As I recently mentioned in another thread, Valentin's web site has over a dozen S&SMC and Mini challenges available in PDF form. His S&SMC series starts with #10, which is where your PDF leaves off, so they complement each other nicely. There's also an archive of some of Valentin's great Datafile articles on the site. It's well worth the visit.

This Web site greets me with crummy advertisements: "You are the 100,000th visitor!" "Speed up your PC!" "Lovely Asian Ladies are Waiting for YOU!"

Is there a way to access Albillo's treasures without having to elbow my way past this junk?

Yes: By installing an ad-blocker in your web browser. I have been using Adblock+ since many years (both with Safari and Firefox on the Macintosh) and have not seen an advertisement ever since. And it's free!

Regards
Max

I thought it was me:

             It is not a joke
You are the 100,000th visitor of the day!

Claim your winnings?

OK Cancel

No thanks, I think I'll pass :-)

Max, many thanks for the useful tip, which I may use when I replace my aging Macintosh. No Web site I visit is as clogged with cheap ads as the one in question, however, so there's no hurry -- I won't revisit it.

I use a spare machine with IPCOP and URLFILTER. I needed to add a second network card to turn it into a dedicated firewall but it seems quite effective at keeping some of the more unwanted parts of the internet at bay.

Unfortunatly URLFILTER has not yet been updated to work with the latest IPCOP release.

Damn. I'm running adblock+ also. I therefore wasn't aware of the popup spam. My apologies to all.
