While the ability to switch the firmware is really neat and impressive, it wouldn't be of much use (at least to me), because I wouldn't know how to use a 12c or even a 16c with the 15c's keycaps.

Most folks who had inquired about a sam7 voyager KEMU port
were interested in multiple personality support.
But you're correct, that's the fundamental limitation of the
experiment. Key legend support in the graphic version helps
to offset this but obviously isn't a complete solution.

The complete solution is arguably allowing 30 y/o firmware
to rest in peace, clean the slate and define the functionality
for a device with a unified UI which does what you really want.
