Maybe intersting for future WP-34s conversions:
Do an ebay search for NW238AA, there is a brand new 30b to be had for 18,99€, free shipping in Germany.
I'm not the seller and am not affiliated to them in any way. The first one I bought was already delivered, so I purchased a second one before posting this here. ;-) I did not test the other item that comes up for 17,10€.
If you feel this posting to be inappropriate, I will delete it.

Thank you for the heads-up (sometimes it has its benefits to be sitting at home in standby-status...)! There is even a seller who has it 17,10 Euros including shipping, just finished clicking "Buy Now!".
Unfortunately, I will not be able to convert it to anything else as all the necessary software does not run on my Macintosh, if I understand correctly.
Regards,
max

You can flash from a Windows XP virtual machine running on your Macintosh. This is what I do and it works fine.
We have plan to support flashing from any platform but I cannot tell you when it will be available.

As Pascal has already stated Parallels or other virtualization software running Windows XP works fine. If you do not want to install such an environment I can do the flashing for you. Mail me if you are interested.

Thanks Pascal and Marcus for your replies,
as old-fashioned as I am with my calculators, I am also with my computers... no parallels desktop here, my PowerBook still runs on a trusted G4 processor (but no red LED display, I'm afraid :-) )
Recently I feared that it's time has finally come when the Video RAM failed, but I found a repair wizard over the internet who replaced (or resoldered?) it again for a fixed price of 100 Euros (cheeeeap compared to the alternative of having to buy the current 17" MacBook Pro for 2500 Euros...).
I think I could do the flashing at the office, but the PCs have all been upgraded to Windows 7 recently, will that work?

If you only need one, the other mindfactory companies offer free shipping today, with prices around 18 EUR.

The MySamba utility should work under Windows 7. I have yet install my Windows 7 copy in another virtual machine on my iMac and try.

Never worked for me under Windows 7 virtualized but it may be a driver problem with the USB->Serial adapter I'm using.
Also, the new emulator works under MacOSX but not on G4.

MySamba has worked perfectly for me in Windows 7 Professional using an FTDI USB->Serial converter I purchased from Eric Rechlin here.
Good luck!
