HP31E, position of the IC´s??
#1

Hello,
who can me help, fit my HP31E? I have open the calculator
for cleaning and now i dont´t know what is the right position of the three Ic´s on the base?

Many thanks for help...

Firstly, all the ICs fit with pin 1 (notched end) towards the display. And it's obvious where the 40 pin chip (processor, etc) goes.
I _think_ that for a -E machine it doesn't matter which of the 8 pin ICs goes where. In a -C machine, the top position, closest to the display, receives the backup supply, so must be used for the RAM, but in a -E, all the
locations are wired the same. I am almost certain that you won't damage anything by trying it.
