Calculator article in Circuit Cellar
#1

In a blatant act of self-promotion, I would invite museum visitors to check out the October issue of Circuit Cellar magazine http://www.circuitcellar.com for an article about my 41C CPU replacement project. You can even get a free copy (although I'm not sure which issue they'll send) by clicking on the "free trial" button. Enjoy.

Monte,

Not to steal your thunder or anything but sounds like you are the last person to replace his 41C CPU ... with an Intel chip, a screen, a keyboard, a hard disk, and so on.

Gene Wright gave a talk at HHC about Monte's work and it looks really great. Monte, I wish you great luck with the project.

Monte, sent you an email regarding your 41CL project, let me know if you got it as Exchange was telling me 'delivery problems, continue trying'

Cheers

Peter

Ah, yes the "intel" calculator upgrade. IIRC it
comes complete with a deep cycle marine battery
and inflated tires.

Namir,

Even though I do most of my work on an Intel CPU, my 41CV (and my 16C) are always on my desk and used daily. I can't stand using a mouse to navigate an on-screen calculator. Just like I can't stand to use the 35s in my drawer because it invariably misses the last numeric entry before I press "Enter". And don't get me started on trying to do hex calculations on it...

Didn't anybody attending such talk suggest that the 41S concept-to-be is already solved by this? In other words, (and you may of course disagree) the best replacement for a 41 is a FASTER 41 !!
