Hello,
I have a HP200LX but it is a German version and I don't speak German at all ! I'd like to install an English version of the system on a seperate memory card in order to boot the computer in english. Are those files available for download somewhere ? Off course I could use the HP200 in DOS mode but in that case I would not take advantage of the HP200 included softwares.
Thanks for your help !

Hello,
maybe it would be easier to trade your HP 200LX with someone
from Germany who has a 200LX localized to English ?
Also note that the keyboard layout and legends of the German version
are slightly different to that of the English/International version.
The hpmuseum classifieds section would be a good place for a start.

Hello,
I already thought about an exchange or selling it but my HP200 is in poor cosmetic condition so it would not be a good trade. Although it works fine, that's why I'd like to use it and not let it on a shelf.
Any help to find the files would be appreciated !!
Thanks

the rom images would be copyrighted, so unlikely available for download. remember, there's those included applications like lotus 123 and quicken in there.
plus, once you had the files, what would you do with them? obtain a blank set of programmable SMD roms, burn them with your eprom programmer (that accepts SMD chips), then unsolder the old roms and solder in the new ones?
a far easier approach would be to look for a 200lx with a broken screen or damaged keyboard, then swap over the PCBs.
cheers,
rob :-)

We need an emulator for that, the Connectivity Pack is not a full replacement of an HP200LX.
If I only had the time to make "Felix" jump arround...

Hello,
Well, I'm not that complicated ! I just want to install the files on a memory card and then boot from that card instead of booting from the ROM. That's all ! Also, I don't need Lotus software and so on, I just need the basic HP softwares (App manager, Settings, File browser...) since my main use will be for C dev.

Swap over the PCBs! You would be the first finding a simpler solution.

What about learning German? Nothing to swap, nothing to change on the 200LX, etc. .
It would be some kind of "brain update" ;).
Unfortunately I cannot help you with those files.
