MLDL2000 + HEPAX Correct Configuration
#1

I have read the past postings from november 2006 and I still have some questions.
Quoted from previous threads;"A straightforward attempt to relocate the HEPAX to page 9 succeeded. My configuration is now:

Page Contents

7

8

9 HEPAX-1D

A HEPAX RAM

B HEPAX RAM

C HEPAX RAM

D HEPAX RAM

E

F

I hand relocated the RAM from 8-B to A-D. This entailed changing the previous and next pointers at $XFE7 and $XFE8 to point to the new values. HEPDIR reports "H:DIR EMPTY" and HEPROOM gives 2,610."

Is this the correct configuration, for the hepax only? Also, what do I need to do to config the RAM Pages? Obviously to load with all zero's but are there special things to link the file system chain?
Just searching for the absolute correct config.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

If I can remember it correctly (I'd need to check forum archives as I'm gettign older... ;-) you're done!

2.160 is the total size HEPAX FILE SYSTEM chain (16K) will shows up after initialization.

BTW, wouldn't it be by Nov. 2005 when I posted about this issue? or was it 2006? mmm.. ok... who cares! ;-)

Best wishes and god luck with your HEPAX/MLDL2000 adventures.

Diego.

Jeff,

Diego is right, you are now in business. Just save a program with HSAVEP and check with CAT 2 if it exists! Disassemebly of the page is also quite interesting.

Diego, it was end 2005, I remember very well since we were living in a trailer for 2 months while waiting for our new house! BTW: watch your mailbox (the physical one).

Do banks 2 and 3 still have to be reversed? Also, How do the ram pages get linked together? Is there some information I can read about somewhere that will describe this?

Thanks for all your help.

Jeff,

I believe you have the latest firmware. If you have the version 1.03 than the banks do not have to be reversed. I have uploaded Howerd Owens paper to my website here, it gives you all the details on how to link the RAM pages. Note that the RAM pages are NOT bankswitched, only the HEPAX roms are bankswitched.
