HP-28 Annunciators

I was doing some complex manipulations on my HP-28s when a circle appeared at the left end of the annunciator line. I don't have a manual so I didn't know what it was. I finally got rid of it by using the limited reset technique described in Wlodek's book. What causes the circle to appear and how do I clear it?

That's the "program suspended" annunciator, which serves the same purpose as "HLT" in the status area of the 48 and 49 series. To "get rid of it" (and resume the suspended program), press Shift CONT (over the 1 key on a 28 series).
