95lx connectivity? - Marcus von Cube, Germany - 04-24-2006

What is the easiest way to connect my 95lx to a PC? I do have the cable (same as 48G, 200lx cable with adaptor is fine, too). Can I use the connectivity software for the HP 200LX (either connectivity pack or Transfile Win 200)?

Since I don't have any means of installing software to the machine, a server component that needs to be installed on the palmtop can't be the first step!

On S.U.P.E.R I saw a driver for SanDisk ATA flash cards. Has anybody had any experence with this driver?

I don't have a manual, either. Any spare manual or a scanned version out there?

Hi Marcus,

Please see the following link for some messages on the HP-95LX which has several links for 95LX info:

HP-95 Messages

Above link also references some card drivers that may be of help to you.

As far as I know, there is not a PDF manual of the HP=95LX, but
a used one can be had from following:

Used HP-95LX Manual

Link of page of Hp-95/100/200LX resorces:

Many of these links may no longer be active, but there may be something of use there.

Hope the above is of some help.

Hi Marcus,

There are two Connectivity Packs made, one for the HP-95LX and one for the HP-100/200LX. I have copies of both. E-mail me at:

(Remove (NOT) AT DOT and reassemble acccordingly with @ and .)

Re: 95lx connectivity - HP200LX pack works - Marcus von Cube, Germany - 04-24-2006

I had a hard time setting up my old HP200lx connectivity pack, but at last it talks to my "new" toy. So I have a means of sending files to the machines from my PC.

Some time later...

Even Transfile Win 200 works (with minor errors). I only had to set the correct baudrate. What made me unsure is the fact that the 95lx does not have an option to set "server mode" in filer. The story is easier than expected. Filer is always listening on the port for commands. Since the filer protocol didn't change between the 95LX, 100LX and 200LX, the newer software works with the older device.

Now I need a working SRAM or flash card.

thanks for the info. The newer pack works for the older machine (see my next post).

I check if I can find a manual from a local (European) source before I order one from Palmtop Paper, shipping costs and VAT can be prohibitive...

To transfer files, you are not limited to just the connectivity pack. The communications application will transfer files via Kermit or XMODEM. You can also set the palmtop to server mode this way. When transferring files with my HP 95LX, I have always used the XMODEM protocol for fast file transfers.
