HP-IL, 41CX, and 71B - Robert Graulich - 02-07-2006

Hi,

just received an HP-IL module for my HP-41CX and want to test it. Up to now, I don't know much about HP-IL.

I connected both machines, entered CONTROL OFF on 71. Switched the 41 on and tried DIR. The result was NO DRIVE. Well, that was to be expected, right?

Does the IL-module of the 71 have a mode to use that machine as a drive to store programs or data from the 41?

What is an easy way to demonstrate that both IL-modules work?

Robert

Hi Robert,

you already demonstrated that both IL modules work;-)

Actually, the loop was closed, so at least that part worked.

The manual of the HP-71B HP-IL module may have some info on how to

receive data from an HP-41.

For data storage, I'd use a real HP-IL mass media device.

Regards

Raymond

Good to know that the hardware is fine. So I will dig into the documentation and try to exchange some data.

Nothing built in. There might be a user-written program, but I haven't seen one.

Thanks. Will try this evening.

BTW, did you receive my order?

YIPIEE! IT WORKS!

But just for data. As I understand the other article, I need the extended I/O module and special software to use the HP-71B as a drive. So I will wait now for the registered version of Emu71.
