Zapping NiCd cells - Renato - 09-08-2003

I tried an alternative for zapping battery cells. I used a current/voltage controlled DC supply, instead of a large capacitor. Without any connection to the DC output, I set a 20V voltage limit, with a low current (300mA) limit. After the output voltage is stabilized, I connect positive output to cell +ve, and negative to cell -ve : ZAPPP.

So far so good, and much less clutter than using a capacitor.
