question re: 12C HP - Debi - 08-21-2003

I was wondering if someone could help me. I have a HP 12C and cannot locate my manuel, so I can fix this problem. The calculator has a comma instead of a period, and it's driving me crazy. I know this is a simple problem to correct, but can't seem to find the right keys to press so I can get the period to replace the comma. I have searched on the internet and I am still having no luck, with this simple problem. I would soo appreciate it..if someone could help. Thank you.

  1. Turn the unit off.
  2. Press and hold the "." key.
  3. While holding down the "." key, turn the unit on.

Doing this again will toggle it back to a comma.

Re: question re: 12C HP - Randy Sloyer - 08-21-2003

It is just as obvious as changing the number of displayed decimal places...

  1. Turn on.
  2. Press the gold "f" key.
  3. Press the number of desired places on the numeric pad.
It's another one of those things that you'll never remember when you need it most. The manual is available online here:

Search on "platinum" and 12cp and 12c etc in both the forum, and the latest archive, and you will find LOTS of info.
