Where to Find Trans41 - Mark Hardman - 07-12-2003 I recently had the good fortune of buying a HP-82973 HP-IL ISA card for $20 from a used PC equipment dealer. He had this in a stack of sound blaster audio cards in a corner of his shop. After a quick look at the MoHPC's articles and forums, I can see that I'll get the most out of this treasure by using the latest version of EMU41. However, it looks like getting EMU41 up and running will be a fair sized project in itself. I'd like to perform some minimal testing on this card before making a large investment of my time setting up EMU41. I've tried testing the card with a copy of HPLINK from the Museum's FTP site--with no success. Other articles suggest that the HP-82973 can be made to work on faster PC's by using the TRANS41 utility. I've searched high and low and cannot seem to locate a copy of TRANS41. Is it still available? If so, where? Mark Hardman (LED)
BTW: I've already turned this fellow's shop upside down looking for other HP-82973's. Sorry, this was a one of a kind find. Edited: 12 July 2003, 11:25 p.m.
