Just an information for emulator fans:

Together with most other emulators HP has also updated the HP-10bII+ emulator a few months ago, and this new version doesn't need an activation key anymore (i.e. it's free for everyone).

If you haven't seen this new version yet (because HP didn't put it on their usual emulator website) - here's the place to download it:

Yes, there is more than one, both emulators & simulators. Try this url: http://www.hp.com/sbso/product/calculators-emulators/finance-calculator-emulators.html

Well, since HP has updated their emulators a few months ago this website now only shows the 20b and 30b emulators.

They have removed the other (older) emulators for 10bII/10bII+/17bII+/12c/12cp from this website, although the download links are still working - well, at least if you know these links. ;-)

But they still require an activation code ...

I 'googled' the following "HP 10bII emulator setup" and received in excess of 100 hits.

BEST!

Funny thing about the {hidden} 10BII emulator on the HP SBO site, it is actually the 10BII+ under that zip archive. The msi SAYS & INSTALLS the 10BII+. Interesting?

Well, I know 3 links for the 10BII(+) on this site:
hp-10bII-emulator-setup.zip
hp-10bII-emulator.zip
hp-10bII+-emulator-setup.zip
But all 3 version require an activation code.

The only free (and newest) 10BII+ version is available on the Educalc site:

OK, but what if I'm really looking for the 10bII, not the 10bII+? Anyone else tried the install w/ same results? Just curious.

Well, then you need a nice guy like me! ;-)

Here's a package with 3 HP10bII versions:

1 and 2 are the same (older) versions and have only different skin colors, and 3 is the newer emulator version.

Hello Franz,

Is the 17bII+ emulator also available? Thanks!

Gerson.

Hi Gerson!

Well, the 17bII+ is a different thing:

It has been available for educators at the usual HP-website

http://www.hp.com/sbso/product/calculators-emulators/finance-calculator-emulators.html

but cold only be used with an activation key.

Now when HP released their new (free!) emulator versions a few months ago, they have unfortunately removed a few old emulators (10bII+/12c/12cp/17bII+) from their website.

But that doesn't mean that the files have been removed - they just don't list these emulators anymore, but the old links are still working (if you know the exact links).

But for all those (now 'hidden') emulators they have not yet released a free version, so they still require an activation code.

If you remember our emails in January this year then you should know how to solve this problem(s) - if not, then just drop me another email. ;-)

Maybe he's just a collector and wants to have ALL versions?

That's at least the reason for me ... :-)

Hello Gene

The repurposing cable for the 20b to 34s worked w/o incident, first attempt.

I'm an 'old' HP calculator user, starting w/ the 65 (still have every library, manual case etc) and have added to that original purchase many additional calcs, ALL for their utility & appeal. A few select models went w/ me to OIF & OEF & have since been honorably retired from even tacit use.

BLUF - Among my many pursuits is the translation-converson of algorithim(s)-formula(s) for handhelds, especially calculators. A select few of these are specifically for my fellow military engineers w/ an emphasis on deployablity. Emulators extend the range of options & troubleshooting when 'in the field'.

BEST!
