WP-34s data exchange with PC over IR - Marcel Samek - 02-26-2013 From a hardware standpoint, would it be feasible to exchange data between a PC and a WP-34S using the IR and something like this: or this? And, if it is feasible from a hardware standpoint, would it be feasible from a software standpoint?
It would be pretty cool to not have to deal with a cable.
Re: WP-34s data exchange with PC over IR - Walter B - 02-26-2013 What speaks against a cable for a mobile coin cell powered device? Instead of blowing electromagnetic radiation in a cone wasting some 99% of it, it's focussed electron to electron communication - far more effective IMHO. Employing Harald's USB board you can use really cool micro USB stuff ... Seriously, we'd need a return channel for bidirectional IR communication which we don't have.

With the right software, it could work on any calculator! Something like this: Lego typing
