OT: when a programmer passed away - Mike (Stgt) - 01-17-2013

With all the programmers here it is only slightly off-topic. It is now for the second time I encounter the sad situation, that a programmer passed away and his software could still have some future. Of cause, it is not a "real big" problem, but even for a well known HP-LX program the author still gets enquiries for the source, he told me last week. He thinks about giving it to a notary to publish it after his death.

And, BTW, it is a strange feeling to use a program knowing there will be no updates any more.

Ciao.....Mike
