HP-28S plays "Happy Birthday" - Kevin F - 08-06-2012 At the 1988 annual/centenial American Mathematical Society meeting in Atlanta, HP 28S calculators were distributed as part of the conference package. This edition has an insignia in on the front cover "American Mathematics...100 Years...1888-1988". At the conference dinner, an HP rep had everyone take out their new 28S and press a key sequence in unison. At that moment the ball-room filled with tiny beeps to the tune of "Happy Birthday", each calculator contributing to the electronic chorus in celebration of the centennial. |
