Hp 97 Card Reader issues - Fouad M. Kaadou - 11-25-2011 Hello,
I have an HP97 with some card reader issues. I have bypassed the write protect by connecting the necessary pins on the card reader chip so i will be able to write and it worked. Also when i first received the calculator i attempted to fix the gummy wheel issue (which i did) , but the ribbon cable was totally destroyed so i had to solder the card reader the main PCB myself. Any ideas? TIA

If the unit does not pull the card through correctly, why not start there? Perhaps the worm screw is loose on the shaft or the wheel repair is not correct?
Re: Hp 97 Card Reader issues - Fouad M. Kaadou - 11-26-2011 Randy, the card reader writes only because I have bypassed the write protect, without that the reader does not read. and it should be able to read without the bypass.
