Say what? HP restarts tablet production - Brian Walsh - 09-01-2011 http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9PF2SVO0.htm
Unbelievable.
Re: Say what? HP restarts tablet production - Namir - 09-01-2011 Good indication how HP's earlier "insight" about the market is WRONG!!! They have been listening to the wrong bean counters who have no patience at all. I am glad to see the HP Tablet get a second chance.
ill they call it the HP Tablet Limited Edition??????? Might as well!! Edited: 1 Sept 2011, 9:16 a.m.
Re: Say what? HP restarts tablet production - M. Joury - 09-01-2011 Not sure that this qualifies as a second chance. Reports at the moment only mention a single additional production run. Yeah, Slap LE on it and sell it on TAS for $700... Just think about this though, the less expensive unit was selling (during the fire sale) for the same price as a 15C LE! Cheers,

Very believable. - Frank Boehm (Germany) - 09-01-2011 Considering most chinese/taiwanese production partners had already pre-produced bunches of parts, this doesn't come as a surprise. The only surprise is, that they obviously had not received any warning before. Re: Say what? HP restarts tablet production - Namir - 09-01-2011 Marwan, Good observation about the similarity of the prices for the HP Tablet and the HP-15C LE. :-)

Once the decision to kill it was made, they should have stood by their decision. This looks even more boneheaded than their preannouncement of spinning off the PC business.
I won't be surprised to see another fire sale.
