I think the seller must have edited the "48G/ no 48GX" text to make the 38G auction.
That auction answered one thing I have wondered about: whether the TIVO was built with a standard hard disk drive and allowed a user to upgrade the disk drive (the seller also sells upgraded TIVOs).
