HP-41C with unusual serial number ? - Marc Ferrer (France) - 02-20-2010 Hello, Many years ago I got a used HP-41C (still working). Only recently, I realized that its serial number is unusual : Instead of being stamped on the appropriate area, it's printed on a silver sticker which holds the number : 47067993. Under the sticker, no other marking. I wonder if it's a refurbished machine, or maybe something more special... In advance thank you all !
Cheers, Re: HP-41C with unusual serial number ? - Iqbal - 02-20-2010 Most likely the backpiece was changed.
Re: HP-41C with unusual serial number ? - Vieira, Luiz C. (Brazil) - 02-20-2010 HI; I have one with the serial number printed a silver sticker glued in the black plastic sheet inside the battery compartment. The back case has no serial stamped on it. Cheers.

Re: HP-41C with unusual serial number ? - Marc Ferrer (France) - 02-21-2010 Hello Iqbal and Luiz, Thank you for your answers; that leads me to other questions : Is there a relationship between these non-standard serial numbers and dates ? or more likely, in the case of a repairing process, is it just a record number used at HP servicing department ? (which would make dating more difficult if not impossible) Thanks again for your help !
