HP 97 printer slipping paper - paolo gramigna - 12-11-2008

I own several HP97 calculators. I'm still able to find the thermal paper for them, not the original one of course but a black-ink replacement of the same size.
All of my printers have the bad abit of slipping the paper, so the advancement is erratic and numbers become crowded or superimposed.
does anybody know af a possible fixing technique?
thaqnks to all,
paolo from italy
