Re: Ebay rip-off - Maximilian Hohmann - 01-24-2007 Hello!
Quote: I had a look at this sellers other items, and from what I see there, he is not specialised in calculators or electronics, it rather looks as if he is some kind of flea-market dealer. Most probably, he has no idea about the original price of this DVD. So make use of the "Suggest Price" facility of this eBay listing and offer him a realistic figure. I already did, if more people join in, he may believe us in the end :-)
Greetings, Max
Re: Ebay rip-off - Anton - 01-24-2007 Your point is right.
But he asks 35 Euro for shipment ..., so I would have to suggest a price of 0, maybe 1 Euro in order "not to pay too much". I don't think that he would accept :)
Re: Ebay rip-off - pierre lallier - 01-24-2007 After some hesitation, I have decided to join this discussion. I notice that both buyers who have made offers so far a from Germany, like the seller. The shipping cost is 4 Euros. For me, in the United Kingdom, the shipping cost would be 35 Euros (about $50, I guess). This may not be a rip-off if he genuinely uses some sort of courrier such as DHL, but what's the point. It is also interesting that this may well be a pirated copy - what's the chance that the original purchaser upgraded his copy to the latest version at a discount, then sold or gave away his old one? Since he has just bought an 11C, he may not be that ignorant.
Here is what the seller says - Mike - 01-24-2007 from USA to Germany you hab to add 19% tax and special tax for software and you had to drive to a neighbour town to get the package from the tax-station. very awful this all. yes, of cource you can buy it in the USA much more cheaper
Re: Ebay rip-off - Dave Hicks - 01-24-2007 The seller just emailed me to ask if I could ship him five copies in one box to save on shipping.

Theoretically, yes. But in reality, no: I have bought enough software and other small stuff (guess what ;-) ) directly from the States and never had to pay tax or anything for items below 100$/Euros. In the few cases, where taxes were charged, these were collected directly by the postman C.O.D. ("per Nachnahme" in German). Anyway, I just saw that this DVD has now been sold for something like 40 Euros which is far more realistic than the original price. Greetings, Max
