New and exciting version of the HP-11C - Ken Shaw - 01-02-2007 Apologies in advance to those who dislike eBay related postings here. However, I think this will be of interest to many. The buyer of this calculator may or may not be aware of what they really purchased, but the seller certainly goofed badly. Re: New and exciting version of the HP-11C - Les Wright - 01-02-2007 Wow! Must've been a goof at the factory? Maybe the wrong emblem was affixed later? I don't feel so bad for the seller--$272 is a pretty good 15C price, just a little less than I paid for my pristine exemplar. Judging from the high closing bid I am pretty sure the buyer new what (s)he was actually getting.

How to make a logo for the voyager series? - jbssm - 01-02-2007 Eheheh,
but, the 15C goes for higher price than the 11C ... and it's more powerful.
So I think the seller doesn't know what he is selling as well.
It's just a matter of exchanging the HP logo on the top corner. Re: How to make a logo for the voyager series? - Les Wright - 01-02-2007 Quote: I have the same question--on my well-worn 11C, the silver paint or whatever it is has almost completely worn off the emblem. Being able to convincingly "re-silver" the emblem would really brighten up the look. The calc has been around the block, and I look for any reasonable opportunity to give it a facelift.

Re: New and exciting version of the HP-11C - Randy - 01-02-2007 Maybe it has the wrong keyboard surround and the 11C badge is correct...

Re: How to make a logo for the voyager series? - Charles - 01-02-2007 Provided you had a master, it should be reasonably easy to make a mould in plasticine and cast it with resin then paint. I've had a brief look at adapting a 12C logo but not taken it any further.

Don't be angry, be happy! - Mr Happy - 01-02-2007 Frankly, I find the post interesting. I also find the ebay talk entertaining.
Who are you to tell us what can post so long as it is within forum rules?
Re: New and exciting version of the HP-11C - Ken Shaw - 01-02-2007 That's a good point about the price. Probably most bidders weren't fooled by the logo. My guess is that with the intense resale market for these machines, there's a lot of refurbishment going on, and this one's just a silly mistake.
