This was my first time attending an HHC conference, and the experience was delightful. Someone in front - it might have been Jeff Bronfield - said it best on the second morning. "I love it here because I feel I'm among my people." (That is a very loose quotation, and it may or may not have been Jeff, so please direct any derision due at me and not at him. 8)

I greatly enjoyed meeting the icons of the HP user community. These are people whose names I have known for more than half my life. Finally getting to meet Richard Nelson and others was a real treat. HP was well represented in the persons of Sam Kim and Cyrille de Brebisson. Wlodek Mier-Jedrzejowicz and David Colver made it "across the pond" from Britain. Jean-Yves Avenard flew in from Australia. Many folks I've "spoken" to here and on comp.sys.hp were also present, and it was fun getting to know them in person. Then there were lots of folks I had never met. Our shared enthusiasms for HP calculators allowed immediate friendly conversation. All in all, it was an exciting and thought provoking weekend among a very congenial group of *ahem* technology enthusiasts. I'm looking forward to next year. Perhaps I'll earn enough frequent flyer miles to make it to London for the HPCC conference too. 8)
