From increasing ebay offerings of factory new calculators & reduced availability at online stores, I'm getting the impression that changes are coming ...

Am I wrong or are new products coming soon?

Best regards

Lol.

First, I would not put any emphasis on market trends based on ebay.

Second, as I always try to respond on questions of this type:

a) Anyone who knows about HP's future product plans could not possibly talk about them, since they would be under non-disclosure agreements and would get in trouble if they broke it.

b) Anyone who actually talks about HP's future product plans doesn't know anything about them.

So, no matter what response you get to this question, it won't add anything to the actual knowledgebase of the world.

:-)

Who knows!! The HP12C is still selling after 25 years. Soooo .. it's hard to say.

Gene,

Your answer is appropriate - and to be honest - I expected such an answer, BUT given the unclear fate of the SATURN processor (which - as far as I know - is used in both calculators), I became suspicious because of this activity.

Are any of them on it?

I think the saturn was EOL'd a good while ago and I thought nothing was still running on it.

Anyone know for sure?

Gene

Gene,

My assumptions conc. SATURN usage were based on this thread:

Which HP calculators DO NOT use the Saturn processor?

Quote:
...
The Bert, Lewis, Clarke and Yorke are special chips having a Saturn kernel.
The following list may be incompleted, because I made it from my mind.

- Saturn
HP71B, HP18C, HP28C

- 1LU7 Bert
HP10B, HP20S

- Lewis
HP17B, 17BII, 19B, 19BII, 27S, 28S, 42S

- Clarke
HP48S, HP48SX

- Yorke
HP38G, HP39G, HP40G, HP48G, HP48G+, HP48GX, HP49G

All other HP calculators don't use a Saturn processor kernel and that are of
course much more that I listed above.

Sorry for the confusion. You are right "based on SATURN kernel" is not the same as being a SATURN processor ...
