Hello,

does anyone have some information about a shield for the HP-41C battery pack? I have one, and I wonder who made this. You put it into you HP-41C, and it protects the battery contacts.
It has the following text on it:
"Remove this shield before using rechargeable battery pack HP82120A"

I am not sure if it is a product of HP, because the construction is a bit unfortunate: It has four rivets with sharp heads that make contact with you HP-41C's battery contacts. In the HP-41CX, where it had been used, it destroyed the battery contact foil.

I have made some pictures, and can send them via eMail (I don't know where I can upload them).

Who made this crap?

Hello,

this 'crap' was made by HP;-)

I think the holes in the contact buttons were made this way by purpose,

however I would have put the flat side of the buttons on the other side;-)

The holder has at least one positive effect:

It prevents the batteries from falling off the normal battery holder

when outside the calc.

Thanks for the answer!

I thought the shield was meant to stay in the calc, and not on the battery pack.
I also must apologize for the word 'cr**'. Maybe "maldesigned piece" or "little junk" might fit better.
