Hi all.

I was looking for a copy of Wlodek Mier-Jedrzejowicz's book

"A Guide to HP Handheld Calculators and Computers".

Following what suggested here I contacted mrcalc@pacbell.net, but they just replied me that "the book is no longer available for sale. We've been out of print for about a year now - and I don't know when (or if) we will get more printed".

I also tried Amazon.com, but the book isn't available even from them. So now I've got no more resources.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Giancarlo

You could try contacting Wlodek himself -- he may have a few spare copies. I don't know his email address, but maybe someone else on this forum can provide it to you -- otherwise, HPCC can probably put you in touch with him.

And, of course, you can always try eBay (but they don't seem to have it on offer at the moment).

I think he is in England. I sold him an hp41cx blank nut once. Part of the deal was a copy of his autographed book.

I am not sure that I should print his e-mail address here, but
I am a member of HPCC (a UK-based HP Calculator Club), and I see
that a summary of his historical data can be found at:
http://www.hpcc.org/calculators/wmjarts.htm
This is a lot less elaborate than the book and has no nice pictures.
I did buy a copy about a year ago from a local calculator dealer,
but he is no longer advertising the book.

Giancarlo,

There have been a few copies on eBay recently, it almost seems as if there would be a slow yet constant trickle of this fantastic book there. If you keep on the look-out, you should be able to by one. Also, his book is in pdf form on the DVD of Dave afaik.

Cheers

Peter

Apologies! I copied the link incorrectly. It should be http://www.hpcc.org/calculators/wmjarts.html

I didn't see this particular book in the DVD master index, but other books of Wlodek's are, and his email address is also at http://www.hpmuseum.org/software/swcd.htm.

Hi,

I purchased one about a 1 1/2 year ago directly from Wlodek Mier-Jedrzejowicz's via e-mail with Wlodek.

Ronald

Thank to all of you for the information and the hope you're giving me!!

Crossing fingers, I've just tried to cantact Wlodek by e-mail....
Waiting and hoping ;)

Cheers.
Giancarlo

Wlodek can be contacted at chairman@hpcc.org (this address gets tons of spam already so publishing it here won't make any difference!)

Make sure you put "calculators" "hpcc" or "i want to buy your book" in the title so that it stands out from the spam.

Given the trouble he sometimes has with actual e-mail being lost in the slurry of spam, I've also just let Wlodek know directly about this thread by using one of those mobile phone things.

Frank,

thank you very much for the support - especially for facing

those mobile things for sucha noble aim! ;)

Cheers.

Giancarlo
