Full Version: Installing HP-41CX Memory

I've picked up a memory module (HP-82106A) for my HP-41CX and have been unable to find any clear instructions on how to install it. My manual from the HP Museum is not searchable and seems to only provide instructions on removing modules. Is it simply the case that new module can be added (in the correct sequence)?

Any other references worth a look?

Thanks for any help.

Steve

Hello Steve,

Your Hp-41Cx already has built-in the maximum possible memory (ie 319 registers).

Therefore, you cannot and must not fit in any complementary 82106 or 82170 modules.

They simply won't work in anything else than a bare old simple 41C.

Best regards from France!

Hi Steve,

This is a good news, bad news tale...

The bad news are that satndard memory modules (82106A) are only for use in the HP-41C (not CV or CX)

The good news is that your CX is equipped with as much standard memory as it can hold, namely 320 registers.

You may want to increase the Extended memory instead using 82181A Extended Memory modules, you can install up to two of them.

Hope this helps.

Diego.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I will probably just put the thing up for sale as it was an impulse buy.

Cheers,

Steve
